Singers from around the world come to the University of Maryland to study with our faculty, many of whom have performed leading roles with some of the world's major opera companies and symphony orchestras. This article reports on a research project that focused on areas of study and teaching strategies in instrumental teaching within the context of a music department in an institution of higher education.
